About Wesley
I build software and run my own business.
I’m Wesley Abbenhuis. Software architect, entrepreneur and founder of Wabber B.V.
Around the age of nine, I was already programming in MS-DOS and making my own small games. At about ten, I was studying the thick MS-DOS Bible. That curiosity about how technology works has stayed with me.
Since 2009, I have worked full-time as an application developer, building software and infrastructure. Since 2018, my team at Wabber and I have been building business-critical systems for organisations that depend on reliable technology.
I understand technology, as well as investments, people, customers, risk and business continuity.
That is why I consider what makes business sense alongside what is technically possible.

background
From MS-DOS to my own software company.
My interest in technology started at home, with MS-DOS and small games I made myself. Since 2009, I have built applications full-time. Along the way, I also learned what it means to be responsible for a team, customers and my own business.
From day-to-day operations to my own software company
- As a child
MS-DOS, small games and the MS-DOS Bible
Around nine, I was already programming and making small games. At about ten, I studied the MS-DOS Bible. I wanted to understand how things worked and make things myself.
- 2000-2009
McDonald’s, operations and management
Before moving into software development full-time, I gained experience with day-to-day operations: orders, schedules, equipment and leading and training employees.
- 2009-2013
Software engineer at NovaRage Internet Applications
Technical design and development of custom websites and web applications for small and medium-sized businesses, designers and design agencies.
- 2013-2018
Senior software engineer and ethical hacker at Inforing
Technical design, custom applications and integrations for businesses, municipalities, welfare organisations and universities of applied sciences.
- Since 2018
Founder and owner of Wabber B.V.
My own software company, combining technical and entrepreneurial responsibilities. With the team, I build and operate business-critical software, tracking systems and private AI.
Product responsibility too
Through DiceXQ, I help build software businesses as a technical co-owner. I have also been involved as director and owner of ABBR-App since 2023. Since 2025, I have been product owner of Digitaal Aanmelden. This means considering the product’s value to organisations and users as well as its code.
More about DiceXQfive perspectives, one challenge
Looking beyond technology alone.
As an entrepreneur, I consider returns, risk and business continuity.
As an architect, I assess structure and relationships between systems.
As a developer, I know what is feasible in practice.
Through a security lens, I assess software safety and technical risks.
As an operator, I consider how to keep it running for years.
how i think
The right technology. Beyond the latest trend.
- 01Understand the real problem first.
- 02Assess technical and business consequences together.
- 03Build in security and continuity from the start.
- 04Choose solutions that remain viable for years.
- 05Give honest advice, including when no change is needed.
